Life as a Blaugrana hasn’t been plain sailing for Ansu Fati, who was once pipped to be a world-beater.

Ansu Fati’s departure from Barcelona appears to be on the horizon this summer after technical director Deco’s comments suggest a move away may be on the cards.

In an interview with La Vanguardia, the former Barca star stated that a loan move might be the best solution for all parties, with Fati needing more game time at this stage in his career.

Monaco is a potential destination for the 23-year-old, whose career hasn’t quite gone to plan so far, but a deal is yet to be agreed with any club.

Fati spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Brighton, where he made 19 appearances, netting just two goals in that time.

With that being said, a move to the Premier League could still prove to be a fruitful destination for the winger; here are three potential English sides that could help rekindle Fati’s career.

Sunderland

Sunderland’s fairytale return to the Premier League has left them with plenty of work to do when it comes to squad-building.

Régis Le Bris has already had to let go of Jobe Bellingham, who has joined Borussia Dortmund, much like his older brother back in 2020, and play-off final winner Tommy Watson has also been announced as a Brighton player.

The Black Cats have had recent success when it comes to developing a young winger, with Manchester United’s Amad Diallo shining whilst on loan at the Stadium of Light.

For Fati, Sunderland could provide a perfect balance of nurture and a sense of responsibility, and might be an ideal place to find his feet on the pitch once again.

Bournemouth

A club like Bournemouth find themselves in a similar position to Brighton when they brought Fati in on loan.

Andoni Iraola led the Cherries to new heights in the Premier League table throughout the first half of the season, but a slower back-end of the campaign saw them miss out on that dreamy European qualification.

It has been heavily rumoured that Antoine Semenyo could be leaving Bournemouth in the transfer window, with Tottenham a possible destination if a price can be agreed.

If a deal does go through, then Iraola could target an on-the-market Fati as a replacement for the 25-year-old.

The Cherries are young, ambitious, and determined to bring success to the south coast, and could provide Fati with the drive and passion needed to make a real difference.

Manchester United

Perhaps the most unlikely destination of the three, donning the red and black of Manchester United could bring promise to Fati’s career.

It is no secret that Ruben Amorim wants to bring in a winger; the aforementioned Semenyo has been rumoured as a target, and Brentford star Brian Mbeumo has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

With Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford seemingly on their way out of a club facing financial difficulty, a loan move may just be the best option this summer for Manchester United.

Fati could shine on the opposite wing to Diallo in attempts to not only revive his own career, but also the success of a fallen giant.
