A six-time PGA Tour winner has said he would tell Keegan Bradley not to select him for the Ryder Cup.
We are fast approaching the 2025 Ryder Cup, and it will soon be time for the captains to select their 12-man teams to battle it out in New York. Team US captain Bradley said he is keeping his options open, but he has a mighty job on his hands.

That job may have been made easier by this golf star, who said he would tell Bradley not to select him for the Ryder Cup this September.
Tony Finau says he would tell Keegan Bradley not to pick him for the Ryder Cup due to 2025 form
Six-time PGA Tour winner Tony Finau said that if the selection process for the Ryder Cup was done today, he would tell Bradley not to select him. But he still aims to make a run at this weekend’s Wyndham Championship and in the FedEx Cup playoffs.
Speaking to the Golf Channel, he said, “If the Ryder Cup was today, I’d tell Keegan, ‘Make sure you don’t pick me’. But the decision is not made today. Why not make a run in a playoffs? That’s the goal. At the moment, one foot in front of the other as the cliché goes.
“One shot at a time, and that’s all I can do. Over the next few weeks I have to try and play as good a golf as I can and we’ll see where the chips fall.”
It’s been a consistent but underwhelming 2025 for Finau, who is 50th in the FedEx Cup standings. He has several top‑20 and top‑40 results, but no victories this year and only one top ten finish. He missed the cut at The Masters, and at The Open Championship recently.
However, Finau is a two-time Ryder Cup participant, and may be called upon by Bradley for his experience in the competition, especially with how badly Team Europe beat Team US last time.
Tony Finau needs a strong showing at the Wyndham Championship for FedEx Cup standings
The Wyndham Championship is the last opportunity for players to impact their FedEx Cup standings, and Finau needs a solid performance in order to crack the top 50. That would allow him to qualify for the BMW Championship.
He hasn’t played this competition since 2020, which is a testament to his recent form not forcing him to go for one last haul of points in recent years. However, when Finau has teed off at the Wyndham, he hasn’t had much success.
Finau has never won or posted a top-10 finish at the Wyndham Championship in his career. He’s competing against desperate players looking to qualify for the playoffs and secure their 2026 tour card, so if he wants to grab the attention of Bradley, Finau will need to be at his best.
