The PGA Tour heads to Greensboro for the 2025 Wyndham Championship, and there is still so much to play for in the final event of the season.
This is the final opportunity for players to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The Wyndham Championship draws experienced players looking to claw their way into FedEx Cup qualifications with vital points.

Players need to be in the top 70 of the standings in order to qualify for the FedEx St Jude Championship, and there are some big names who are currently missing out. Here are some of the key figures looking to qualify this weekend.
Nicolai Højgaard
Current rank: 71
Requires: Solo 63rd
Four-time Tour winner Nicolai Højgaard is just outside of the St Jude qualification, and needs a solid weekend to sneak into the FedEx Cup playoffs. It’s been an inconsistent year for the Dane, but a solid Open Championship saw him finish T14, eight shots back of winner Scottie Scheffler.
Despite the solid week at Royal Portrush, Nicolai Højgaard has missed five of 11 cuts leading into the Wyndham Championship. That’s a far cry from his 2023 form, which saw him help Europe to a historic Ryder Cup win.
A T4 at the Genesis Scottish Open was his best result of the year, but he won’t need to come close to that to make the playoffs. Just a solid result should see him safe this weekend.
Rasmus Højgaard
Current rank: 82
Requires: T4
Rasmus Højgaard, Nicolai’s twin brother, faces a more challenging proposition, however. He’ll most likely need at least a fourth position to get enough points to rise from 82nd to 70th in the standings.
The five-time tour winner was in a scrap with his twin at Royal Portrush and finished T16. That was his best major result of the season. His best result was alongside Nicolai at the Zurich Classic team event, where he finished second with his brother.
This is also a big weekend for Rasmus Højgaard’s Ryder Cup ranking. He’s currently seventh and in strong contention for automatic selection, so a good result is crucial for him at the Wyndham.
Adam Scott
Current rank: 85
Requires: T3
Adam Scott requires by far the best result of his season if he hopes to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He currently sits 85th in the standings, well outside the Top 70 playoff cut-off.
He’s made a limited impact this season. He hasn’t had a top 10 finish in 2025, but he needs a T3 or better if he wants to stand any chance of qualification for St Jude.

Scott is a former world number one and won the Masters in 2013. He finished runner-up at the Wyndham Championship in 2021, he’ll want to match that performance in 2025.
Tom Kim
Current rank: 89
Requires: Solo 3rd
Tom Kim needs a result this weekend after missing the cut at The Open Championship. The three-time tour winner sits 89th in the standings and hasn’t achieved a top-10 finish in 2025.
Kim’s major results tell his 2025 story. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship and The Open, finished T52 at the Masters and T33 at the U.S. Open. He needs at least solo third to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
He’s shown flashes of potential in the past, but his recent form has seen Kim fall down the standings with lacklustre results. He won the 2022 Wyndham, and now would be the perfect time to recapture his form.
Max Homa
Current rank: 106
Requires: Solo 2nd
Max Homa has endured a challenging 2025. But with the Wyndham Championship as his final opportunity to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the mission is clear: T2 or his season ends here.
Prior to the Wyndham Championship, Homa sits at 106th in the FedEx Cup standings. He did show form at the Masters with a T12 finish, seven shots off the winner at Augusta, Rory McIlroy, and he finished in the top five at the John Deere.
However, Homa missed the cut in eight events, and he now needs his best result of the year to make the playoffs.
