It’s major season in the world of golf, and The Sport Review has everything you need to know ahead of the 2025 US Open.

Golf is gearing up for its third major of the year, as the world’s best battle it out for the US Open crown.

Bryson DeChambeau’s victory last time out included its fair share of drama, and fans will be hoping for more of the same this time around.

So with that being said, here is all the important information you need prior to tee-off, from prize money to course details.

2025 US Open dates/tee times

The 156-man field will begin their quest for US Open glory on Thursday, June 12, with the tournament reaching its climax on Sunday, June 15.

Which course is the US Open held at?

The Pennsylvania-based Oakmont Country Club will play host to the US Open this weekend. This will be the course’s 10th time hosting the prestigious event, last doing so back in 2016 when Dustin Johnson lifted the trophy.

Regarded as one of the USA’s toughest courses, the field will have to be on their A-game to come away with the victory.

Which players will feature at the 2025 US Open?

Rory McIlroy skipped The Memorial a couple of weeks ago, but will be back in action at Oakmont. Given how heartbreaking last year’s defeat was, the Northern Irishman will no doubt be hoping to put some demons to rest.

DeChambeau was the man to pip McIlroy to the title in 2024, and many will fancy the two-time major champ to do the business again.

To do so, however, he will have to overcome the best golfer on the planet in Scottie Scheffler.

Fresh off the back of a win at The Memorial, Scheffler has been compared to Tiger Woods for his dominant displays on the Tour – something he will look to replicate this weekend.

How to watch the 2025 US Open

UK viewers will be able to watch the tournament live on Sky Sports Golf. Coverage will begin at 12:30 pm over the first two days of play, starting slightly later at 4:00 pm across the weekend.

Fans in the USA, meanwhile, can watch the play unfold across multiple channels, schedule below:

What is the 2025 US Open prize money?

Whilst the US Open prize money is yet to be confirmed, the winnings on offer will likely exceed the amount won by DeChambeau in 2024.

After beating McIlroy to the title, the Californian native netted a staggering $4.3 million (£3.1 million) – the highest total in US Open history.

US Open previous winners

Two of the last five US Opens have been won by reigning champion DeChambeau. Can he win a third this weekend?
