Xander Schauffele hopes to keep this incredible streak alive in the final few weeks of the season.
The two-time major winner is building form after an injury-plagued start to the year. He finished T7 at The Open Championship, won by Scottie Scheffler, and showed consistent form throughout the tournament.

Schauffele is second in the Ryder Cup standings as Team U.S. looks for revenge against Europe, but he can’t let his foot off the gas in the next month if he wants to keep an amazing streak alive.
Xander Schauffele has not missed the Tour Championship in his career
Schauffele won the Tour Championship on his debut in 2017 and has never failed to qualify since then. And no one has played better at East Lake than the American.
To qualify for the Tour Championship, you must finish in the top 30 of the FedEx Cup standings after the first two events of the PGA Tour Playoffs.
Schauffele is currently 40th, and has until the second leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the BMW Championship at Wentworth, to crack the top 30. The streak is in real danger.
It would be a shame to see him miss out on what has been a happy hunting ground in the last eight years. In six appearances, he’s never finished worse than seventh, coming second twice and winning once.
Schauffele has played 27 rounds at East Lake and never shot over par once. That level of consistency is practically unheard of, but he needs a final push in order to qualify this year.
How can Xander Schauffele qualify for the Tour Championship?
Following The Open Championship, Schauffele is ranked 40th in the FedEx Cup standings with 953 points. He’s 150 points behind 30th.
Reports indicate that we are most likely to see him play at the FedEx St. Jude, which offers a significant points payout in the standings. He can earn up to 2,000 points at both the St. Jude and the BMW Championship.
A top-three finish at either would make for comfortable qualification, and a top 10 would put Schauffele in good stead.
But while major season is over, there is still plenty to play for this season.
