NBA fans are concerned about an NBA star after a scary video circulated online.

Ja Morant, in Asia as part of a Nike world tour, took part in a dunk contest that almost ended in disaster. The two-time All-Star slipped when attempting to jump over somebody. He smashed into the back of them in a scary-looking incident.

Luckily, Morant was okay, but NBA fans took to social media to express their worry about the video.

NBA fans worried for Ja Morant after dunk contest slip, ‘risking his career…’

The video did not look good. It’s almost a wonder that Morant didn’t suffer an injury to rule him out of next season. Fans on X said Morant could have ended his season, with one posting, “Man that could have been a torn ACL”.

Someone replied, “Could’ve been two. Bro nearly folded like a deck chair waiting underneath 😩”.

It wasn’t just a scary moment for fans. The Memphis Grizzlies must have looked on in horror as their franchise centrepiece risked his career for a stunt.

One fan said, “The whole franchise just flashed its eyes rn”. Another said the team should step in and stop Morant, adding, “Memphis about to shut all this down 😂”

Other fans questioned Morant’s judgement. The Grizzlies star said he would no longer be dunking to avoid injuries, but that philosophy has quickly gone out of the window.

One fan said, “Risking his career in front of empty seats and never doing the dunk contest lmao. Ja really dumb.”

Another fan begged Morant to stop until the season starts, adding, “Okay, that’s it, no more Ja Morant basketball stunts until start of season. Need him to stay healthy for the sake of basketball!”

Memphis Grizzlies are struggling to compete in the stacked Western Conference

The Western Conference is about as stacked as it’s ever been. Kevin Durant is with the Houston Rockets, the Denver Nuggets rebuilt their roster, the Golden State Warriors look to make a run, and the LA Lakers have a rejuvenated Luka Doncic

Even teams at the bottom of the conference are making moves. The Portland Trail Blazers added Jrue Holiday and Damian Lillard as they prepare to compete with their young cast.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs drafted Dylan Harper, and the Dallas Mavericks drafted Cooper Flagg number one.

Even with Morant, the Grizzlies are way outside of contention unless Morant can return to his peak. He was one of the most prolific and promising young stars in the NBA, but through legal issues and injuries, his trajectory fell off.

A healthy start to the season for Morant could see him back to his brilliant best, and could breathe life back into the Grizzlies.
