Carlos Alcaraz continued his impressive 2025 by reaching another career milestone at the Cincinnati Open.

Alcaraz defeated Hamad Medjedovic in straight sets at the Cincinnati Open to confirm his place in the round of 16.

The tournament kicks off an incredibly hectic schedule for Carlos Alcaraz with the US Open, Laver Cup, and Davis Cup on the horizon.

The star’s latest win saw him achieve something that only two other players have done, as Alcaraz rose above Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz reaches four consecutive 50-win seasons after Cincinnati Open win

Alcaraz’s win against Medjedovic saw the Spaniard secure his 50th win on the ATP Tour in 2025 as the star continues to break new ground.

That means the World No. 2 has won 50 matches for four consecutive seasons, becoming the third youngest player since 1990 to achieve the feat.

At 22 years and 94 days, only Pete Sampras and Rafael Nadal have achieved the feat at a younger age than Alcaraz.

That means the Roland Garros champion reached four 50+ wins in a season at a younger age than Federer and Djokovic.

Alcaraz’s most wins in a single season came in 2023 when the star won 65 matches in a year that saw him win Wimbledon.

Carlos Alcaraz could break his overall wins record in 2025

Despite missing several tournaments throughout the year, Alcaraz’s overall win record could be broken this year.

The star is just 15 wins away from matching his 2023 campaign, which could be closed in on with successful tournaments at the US Open and Cincinnati Open.

Should the World No. 2 win both tournaments, he’d be on 61 wins for the season with the Asian leg of the tour and the ATP Tour Finals to come.

Alcaraz is looking to win the US Open for the first time since 2022, when he picked up his inaugural Grand Slam.
