Emma Raducanu was quick to share her feelings on Eugenie Bouchard’s retirement at the Canadian Open.
The former Wimbledon finalist bowed out of tennis at her home tournament at the Canadian Open, after losing to Belinda Bencic in three sets.
Bouchard brought an end to her two decades in tennis at the Montreal tournament after a career which saw her reach a career high of World No. 5 in 2014.
Raducanu took to social media to celebrate the Canadian tennis star after she waved goodbye to the sport.

Raducanu had reason to celebrate at the Canadian Open, but she was quick to send her condolences to Bouchard.
The Brit picked up another win in Montreal to confirm her place in the last 32 by beating Peyton Stearns in straight sets.
However, Raducanu took time out from the celebrations to send a warm message to the departing Bouchard.
“Thank you, Genie,” said the British No. 1 via her Instagram Stories. “Loved watching you compete and play. Wish you all the best for your next chapter!”
Bouchard broke down in tears during her on-court interview after her loss to Bencic as the finality of her career sank in.
Who does Emma Raducanu play next?
Raducanu’s hot form has made her a real contender for seeded entry at the US Open, which will make her early draw more favourable.
The 22-year-old has won five matches since the beginning of the Washington Open on July 21 and looks to be playing herself into form ahead of the Grand Slam she famously won in 2021.
The British No. 1 faces a tough test against this year’s Wimbledon finalist, Amanda Anisimova, in the third round, who also made the final at the Canadian Open in 2024.
Should Raducanu win against the fifth seed, she’ll play Elina Svitolina or Anna Kalinskaya, who knocked her out in Washington.
