Donald Trump’s attendance caused a US Open delay
While the celebrities managed to pack out Arthur Ashe Stadium for the final between Sinner and Alcaraz, regular punters struggled to get into the event.
Trump’s attendance caused a major change to security, with extra measures put in place, and fans were stuck outside after the match had started.
The match was delayed by 30 minutes, but even by the time of Sinner’s first serve, they were playing to a half-empty Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Fans trickled into the event throughout the match as the stadium started to fill its 24,000 capacity in New York.
