Carlos Alcaraz reached the Cincinnati Open final, but fans believe he needs to work on one aspect of his game in order to topple Jannik Sinner.

Alcaraz’s Cincinnati Open campaign has been eventful, but the star safely made it through to the final in his first tournament since Wimbledon.

The World No. 2 defeated Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals in straight sets to set up yet another meeting with Sinner.

Fans believe Alcaraz needs to sharpen up an important part of his game if he wants to win the Cincinnati Open.

Fans think Carlos Alcaraz needs to work on his serve ahead of Jannik Sinner clash

The Spaniard hit the practice courts after his semi-final victory against Zverev, something Alcaraz stunned fans with earlier in the Cincinnati Open.

Fans were quick to point out exactly what Alcaraz needs to work on in order to defeat Sinner in the Cincinnati final.

He is going to have to serve much better against Sinner,” said one fan on X. “The serve has to be working on all cylinders if he wants a shot at beating Jannik tomorrow!”

“His first serve % needs to be on point,” said another. “He needs to go bigger on his cross courts and has to have a perfect net game.”

Alcaraz’s first serve percentage was just 53% against Zverev, which is considerably lower than the World No. 2 usually hits.

The Cincinnati Open final will be Sinner and Alcaraz’s first meeting since the Wimbledon final, and their third clash of 2025.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s head-to-head

Sinner and Alcaraz have met 13 times on the ATP Tour, with the Spaniard leading the head-to-head with eight wins.

The two best players in the world have met in five previous finals, with Alcaraz triumphing in three of those.

Sinner’s win at Wimbledon stopped a run of five consecutive losses to Alcaraz, dating back all the way to 2023.

The two men will play at the Cincinnati Open on August 18, with play set to start at 3 pm ET and 8 pm UK time.
