Pam Shriver refused to rule out Emma Raducanu winning the US Open again, despite her inconsistent form since 2021.
Raducanu shocked the world at the 2021 US Open by winning the Grand Slam as a qualifier for the first time in history.
Results have been mixed for the British No. 1 since, but Raducanu’s form at the Washington Open has fans hopeful for a good performance at the final Grand Slam of the year.
Raducanu is on the hunt for a seed at the US Open and Shriver has not ruled out the Brit shocking the world again.

Emma Raducanu already has Grand Slam winning ‘mindset’, says Pam Shriver
Shriver believes Raducanu’s experience of winning the US Open in 2021 could come in handy at Flushing Meadows.
Raducanu already knowing what it takes to win the US Open could give her an edge against the rest of the tour.
“If you can come out of qualifying and win ten straight matches in straight sets, I’m not going to say she can’t do it again,” said Shriver in an interview with Talking Tennis.
The multi-time Grand Slam champion believes Raducanu’s mindset could mean she could cause a repeat in her career.
“When you know that somebody’s had the mindset to do it once, you always think sure, they can do it again,” explained Shriver.
Raducanu is currently at the Canadian Open as she looks to crack the top 32 of the WTA Tour rankings. The Brit plays Peyton Stearns in the second round of the Toronto tournament.
Why Emma Raducanu’s resurgence would make tennis ‘better’
In the same interview, Shriver also suggested the rise of several former US Open champions, including Raducanu, would make the women’s game better.
Shriver was complimentary about the women’s game, but believes several top players are not playing at the height of their abilities.
“Women’s tennis would be so much better if Andreescu, if Raducanu, if Osaka, and those US Open winners [were competing for the US Open]”
“Can you imagine what we would have on the women’s side?” asked Shriver. “That’s my hope for women’s tennis is that it does happen.”
The last six US Open tournaments have been won by different players, with Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Raducanu, Osaka, and Andreescu picking up the trophy in consecutive years.
