Carlos Alcaraz will be reeling after suffering his first-ever Grand Slam final defeat to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz was unhappy with his Wimbledon performance, which saw him lose in four sets to the World No. 1.

Sinner scooped millions for beating Alcaraz, but the Spaniard was eager to reflect on the positives in his post-match interview.

However, a worrying statistic has come to light about Alcaraz’s performances between Wimbledon and the US Open.

Carlos Alcaraz is yet to win a tournament before the US Open

Alcaraz will be looking to bounce back after his Wimbledon final defeat, but he’ll have to do something he’s yet to do in his glittering career.

The World No. 2 will likely play the Canadian Open in Toronto and the Cincinnati Open ahead of the US Open.

However, things have not been kind to the Spaniard at either tournament in his past appearances at the North American competitions.

In fact, Alcaraz has only picked up one win in his two appearances at the Canadian Open in 2022 and 2023.

He was knocked out by Tommy Paul in 2022 and 2023, and his sole win came against Ben Shelton in 2022. The star pulled out in 2024 due to fatigue.

Carlos Alcaraz’s record at the Cincinnati Open

Alcaraz’s record at the Cincinnati Open is slightly better, but he’s still suffered some shock losses at the American tournament.

He was knocked out in his first match against Gael Monfils in 2024, but he reached the final at the 2023 event, losing to Novak Djokovic.

In 2022, the Spaniard only reached the quarterfinals of the tournament as his run was ended by Cameron Norrie.

A year prior, Alcaraz once again fell at the first hurdle against Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets as a qualifier.
