Emma Raducanu looks on the cusp of rekindling her Grand Slam victory success as we head into the US Open.

Raducanu impressed at the Washington Open by defeating the likes of Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari on her way to the semi-finals.

The British No. 3 also shone in doubles as Raducanu forged a successful team with Elena Rybakina at the same tournament.

While Raducanu’s form looks set to land her seeded entry into the US Open, there is one thing the Brit desperately needs to change if she’s going to start challenging for titles.

Emma Raducanu has just three wins against top 10 players in her career

Raducanu shocked the world by winning the 2021 US Open as a qualifier, but she did so without beating a player ranked inside the top 10.

The top 10 has largely been Raducanu’s undoing since her emergence on the tennis tour, with the star celebrating just three victories against the higher ranked players.

Raducanu didn’t pick up a win against a top ranked player until 2024, when she defeated Jessica Pegula in the second round of the Eastbourne Open.

The star followed that up with a win against the then-World No. 9 Sakkari in the third round of Wimbledon just a week later.

2025 has been less kind to Raducanu in terms of top 10 wins, with the British star securing just one win against World No. 10 Emma Navarro at the Miami Open.

While Raducanu looks set to challenge at the top end of tournaments, she desperately needs to find a way to defeat the stronger players.

Emma Raducanu’s next top 10 challenger could be very soon

Raducanu could have the perfect time to change her difficulties against the top players at the National Bank Open in Montreal.

The Brit plays Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the first round, with the winner going on to play American Peyton Stearns in the next round.

Should Raducanu come through those games, she’ll likely play Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova in the third round.

Currently ranked World No. 7, Anisimova will likely be Raducanu’s next opportunity to topple a top 10 player.
