AJ Lee’s pick for her ‘favourite match ever’ will not please her husband, CM Punk, in the slightest.

AJ Lee returned on WWE SmackDown on September 5 in Chicago, answering CM Punk’s calls during his feud with Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

Punk and Lee are expected to face Lynch and Rollins in a mixed tag team match at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

However, Lee’s pick for her favourite match in professional wrestling goes entirely against her current WWE comeback feud.

AJ Lee picked a Seth Rollins WWE match as her favourite in 2011

AJ Lee spent time in WWE’s developmental programme, Florida Championship Wrestling, during 2011 alongside an array of future main event stars.

The likes of Dean Ambrose, Rollins, and Roman Reigns all appeared in the brand before making their main roster debuts.

Back in 2011, Lee named a match with Rollins in the Florida promotion as her ‘favourite match ever’ on social media.

“Had my favourite match ever at FCW last night teaming with Seth Rollins against Aksana and Dean Ambrose,” she wrote in August 2011.

“Beating up dudes is fun,” continued the iconic star who recently signed another long-term deal with WWE.

It will hardly please Lee’s husband, Punk, to learn that she used to team with his greatest rival in WWE since his 2023 return.

And to further rub salt into the wounds, Lee loved it so much that she named it as her ‘favourite’.

AJ Lee’s return has already done big numbers for WWE

The Allstate Arena was sold out based on rumours for Lee’s first WWE appearance in over a decade, and it has continued to be a money spinner for the company.

Clips of Lee arriving to attack Lynch on WWE SmackDown accumulated 130 million views across WWE’s social platforms in its 24 hours.

That, coupled with the immense pop from the Chicago crowd, proves there is an incredible demand for another run from the star.

The star is expected to be back permanently, and there have been whispers of an appearance on WWE Raw on September 8.
