CM Punk predicted match alongside his wife AJ Lee will see him break a strict rule he set for himself over the last decade.

WWE has teased AJ Lee’s return several times in the last week, including on WWE Raw and Clash in Paris, with Becky Lynch dropping a huge AJ Lee hint.

Lee’s WWE career was short but iconic and it saw her win the Women’s Championship on three occasions between 2013 and 2015.

Lee looks set to compete with her husband CM Punk, against Lynch and Rollins at Wrestlepalooza, which will see the Best in the World break a rule he set for himself.

CM Punk says not working with AJ Lee’s makes their relationship ‘perfect’

Just last month, Punk said he’s set two strict rules when it comes to his personal relationship with his wife, one of which will be broken upon her return.

“There are really two things me and my wife don’t do together,” said the Best in the World in an interview with TV Insider.

“One is to work out and the other is to work together,” explained Punk. “It’s really the perfect relationship.”

Punk has eschewed his own rules in order for Lee to return to the company where she made her name over a decade ago.

But this will not be the first time they’ve appeared together on WWE TV.

The pair briefly shared the screen during their time together on WWE Raw in October 2014. Lee was the special guest referee for Punk and Dolph Ziggler’s tag team match against Daniel Bryan and Kane.

Why did AJ Lee retire from WWE in 2015?

Lee’s retirement back in 2015 was a huge surprise to fans, considering her age and position on the WWE card.

The star had just retained her Women’s Tag Team Championships with Paige at WrestleMania 31 when she decided to hang up her boots.

In her autobiography, ‘Crazy is My Superpower’, the former WWE star said there were two reasons for her leaving professional wrestling.

Lee felt she had achieved everything she could in WWE, as well as fearing for her health after multiple injury issues.
