AJ Lee’s first-ever meeting with Becky Lynch was incredibly awkward amid rumours the star is set to return to WWE to face her.
CM Punk and Lynch dropped huge AJ Lee hints on WWE Raw during a ferocious back-and-forth between The Man and the Best in the World.
Punk teased AJ Lee’s WWE return on SmackDown, which takes place in his hometown of Chicago on September 5.
Ahead of a reported match between Punk and Lee vs Lynch and Seth Rollins, the Irish star detailed an uncomfortable first meeting between the two in her autobiography.

In her book, ‘The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl’, Lynch detailed an awkward first encounter with then Divas Champion, Lee.
“Without picking up on social cues, I enthusiastically greeted her: ‘Hello!’, four octaves higher and with the underlying desperation of: ‘Please like me’,” explained Lynch in her autobiography.
“She looked up as I stretched out my hand to shake hers, grunted what may have been a ‘Hi’, before going back to finger punching her phone, leaving me with my arm outstretched, fondling the air.”
“This is going horribly, I thought, as I sat in the bathroom stall scared to pee too loudly lest I offend,” concluded Lynch.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Lee and Lynch play into this meeting, especially considering Punk and Lynch’s promo on WWE Raw.
Lynch blamed Punk for his chants ruining her matches over the years, so WWE is not averse to bringing in real-life animosity.
What has AJ Lee said about returning to WWE?
The path back to WWE for Lee always looked a long one, but the star never refused to rule out a wrestling return.
“I’d say never say never. Every time I’ve said ‘never’ in my life I ended up doing the thing,” said the three-time Divas Champion in an interview with Fair Game.
“I say that I don’t know what the future holds, to not hold your breath,” the star added in the 2019 interview. “But never say never.”
A decade after she left the company, the star could be gearing up for an incredible professional wrestling return.
