CM Punk has his eyes on facing several up-and-coming WWE stars after his bout with Gunther at SummerSlam.

Punk’s storied WWE career has seen him win six World Championships and accomplish just about everything possible in the company.

The Best in the World’s next mission is to secure the World Heavyweight Championship when Punk takes on Gunther at SummerSlam.

Ahead of the WWE match, Punk has named several other stars he wants to face in singles matches for the first time.

CM Punk wants WWE matches with Bron Breakker, Damian Priest, and Chad Gable

Punk has had two blood feuds since returning to WWE in 2023, with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, and has been unable to tick some names off his bucket list.

The star did face AJ Styles on WWE Raw, albeit in a Money in the Bank qualifying triple-threat match alongside El Grande Americano.

The star also faced John Cena for the final time at Night of Champions, but now his attention is focused on working with some of WWE’s younger stars.

Gunther is on the top of the list and he’s a guy who I look at as the future of the business,” said Punk to ComicBook Nation before listing three more stars he wants to step into the ring with.

“Bron Breakker, Chad Gable, Damien Priest, there’s all these guys I look at like, oh man I want to get in the ring with them, and I immediately start cooking up ideas.”

Punk faced Breakker in the Gauntlet Match which earned him the right to face Gunther for the title at SummerSlam.

Likewise, he faced Gable, of sorts, in the guise of El Grande Americano on WWE Raw, but he’ll have to wait for the American Made man to return from injury before he gets his singles match.

CM Punk opens up about WWE retirement

Punk is 46-years-old and, understandably, fans and pundits are questioning when the Best in the World will start to wind down his career.

The star is in a better place than most people his age due to the extended break he took from wrestling after leaving WWE in 2014.

Asked about whether he’s thought about retirement, Punk told The Metro: “No, because you never know what’s going to happen.

“If you would ask me when I was 26 if I would be wrestling when I was 46, I would have been like, ‘No way,’” continued Punk.

Punk puts his longevity down to the smaller schedule in WWE under Triple H, with limited house shows and less week-to-week wrestling.

“The business has changed so much,” revealed Punk. “The miles that we put on our bodies for years and years and years, and now we’re here, and we’re wrestling maybe once a month, we’re doing one show a week.”

The star will likely be the next high-profile name to bow out from WWE, but the star has no plans to hang up his boots yet.
