Cody Rhodes could be about to follow in the footsteps of Roman Reigns and John Cena with a part-time schedule in WWE.
The American Nightmare is the new WWE Champion, with Cody Rhodes defeating John Cena at SummerSlam for the belt.
Rhodes is the biggest full-time star in WWE, but that hasn’t stopped the American Nightmare from receiving huge Hollywood roles.
The star has opened up about a new project he’s excited about which could see him reduce his schedule with WWE.
Cody Rhodes said ‘maybe’ to reducing his WWE schedule
The American Nightmare has appeared in The Naked Gun this year, and Rhodes is set to film the brand-new Street Fighter movie in September.
His latest foray into Hollywood has led many fans to question whether he’ll leave like Cena and Reigns, and now he’s given an answer.
Asked by Sports Illustrated if he’s thinking about reducing his WWE schedule, Rhodes responded: “I don’t really know, I’m in uncharted territory.”
“There are some projects that are not wrestling projects on my plate that are coming up that I’m very excited about,” Rhodes continued.
“I’ve never been excited about anything outside of pro-wrestling from a professional standpoint, and now I am,” before adding: “So… maybe?”
It’s currently unclear how much WWE TV Rhodes will miss due to filming Street Fighter, but Reigns is also set to appear in the video game adaptation.

Rhodes appeared on WWE SmackDown on August 8 for the first time since winning his belt back at SummerSlam.
The star was locked into a tag team match alongside Cena against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, which ended in disqualification.
The Scottish Warrior hit Rhodes with a shocking Claymore to the side of the commentary desk, which looks to confirm a match between the pair for the WWE Championship.
The match could join Paul vs Cena and CM Punk vs Seth Rollins vs LA Knight vs Jey Uso on the Clash in Paris card.
