Five things we learned from WWE Raw as CM Punk shocks Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns gets taken out

After the shocking events of the first-ever two-night SummerSlam, there were plenty of talking points on WWE Raw.

Two championships were defended on the show and Roman Reigns continued his extended stint on WWE Raw.

There was no John Cena or Brock Lesnar despite both men dominating the talking points coming out of SummerSlam, but Seth Rollins’ new faction continued to dominate the red brand.

Here are five things we learned from WWE Raw.

Becky Lynch gets a new challenger

Becky Lynch cut a promo gloating about defeating Lyra Valkyria at SummerSlam, particularly as the rising star can no longer challenge her for the Intercontinental Championship.

This brought out WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, who told Lynch they were no longer in her era and she was taking up a spot out of jealousy.

Bella said she came back to WWE to challenge herself against the brilliant current crop of stars, but she wasn’t sure why Lynch came back.

Lynch attacked back by making a remark about Bella’s ex, John Cena, before sucker punching the Hall of Famer.

The pair look set to have a match for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in the near future.

AJ Styles vs Dominik Mysterio re-match looks set to take place

AJ Styles confronted Dominik Mysterio after the young star cheated to defeat The Phenomenal One at SummerSlam.

Styles said he was still gunning for Mysterio, and he still wants his title, putting him firmly back in the hunt heading into Clash in Paris.

Later on, Styles made the save for Dragon Lee as Mysterio was attempting to attack him after their singles match.

Hopefully, this is a way to get Styles on the Paris card, as he proved at Backlash last year just how popular he is in France.

Sheamus and Rusev brawl throughout the arena

Sheamus and Rusev continued their intense feud with their third WWE Raw match in the last month, but it couldn’t reach a conclusion.

The pair were counted out after brawling in the crowd, and they continued the fight for the rest of the night.

Rusev and Sheamus brawled backstage, interfering with backstage promos from Sami Zayn, as well as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.

Rusev bumping into Zayn confirmed a match between the pair for next week’s WWE Raw in Quebec City.

LA Knight is back in the World Championship scene

LA Knight returned back into the World Championship fold to confront Rollins at the beginning of the show.

Knight was the man who ‘injured’ Rollins, and The Megastar was not thrilled with The Architect’s ‘Ruse of the Century’.

He challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion to a title match, which was confirmed by General Manager Adam Pearce.

Knight’s popularity means he deserves a place in the main event scene, but it’s hard to buy he’ll ever be a World Champion at this point.

Seth Rollins gets the better of CM Punk and Roman Reigns again

Knight and Rollins’ main event was predictably spoiled by interference, as CM Punk attacked Rollins to cause a disqualification.

The Best in the World’s attempts were foiled by Bron Breakker, who hit a nasty-looking Spear to take out the star.

As the brawl continued as Rollins stood tall during the closing credits, Reigns’ music hit and he arrived to try and take out his former faction mate.

Reigns was eventually suppressed by Bronson Reed and Breakker, as well as being hit by a Rollins’ Curb Stomp.

The show went off the air with Rollins’ new faction, The Vision, standing over the three popular babyfaces.
