AJ Lee looks set to come out of retirement to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, but another star has been itching to face the WWE icon.
Lynch referenced AJ Lee on WWE Raw in an in-ring segment with her husband CM Punk, following on from the Irish star joining forces with her husband Seth Rollins in The Vision.
AJ Lee and Lynch have an awkward history, and many fans are speculating an all-star tag team match could be set for WWE’s Wrestlepalooza between Punk and Lee vs Rollins and Lynch.
Should Lee return to WWE for the first time in a decade, there is another star who has expressed an interest in facing the icon.
Liv Morgan is desperate for a WWE match with AJ Lee
Liv Morgan has made no secret of wanting to face Lee in the past, having most recently called her out earlier this year.
Asked about her WWE dream matches in an April 2025 interview with Khel Now, Morgan didn’t hesitate to name AJ Lee, but it wouldn’t be a traditional singles match.
“It is Dominik and I versus CM Punk and AJ Lee,” said Morgan about a potential all-star tag team match between the icons.
“That would be fire,” continued Morgan about the on-screen couple facing off against the real-life couple, before adding: “So good.”
Morgan is currently injured and looks set to be beaten to the punch by Lynch, who looks set to face Lee and Rollins.
However, if AJ Lee sticks around, a match with Morgan would undoubtedly please fans and the two-time World Champion.
Another WWE star wants a retirement match with AJ Lee
There’s a whole queue of WWE stars lining up to face Lee, should she return to the company where she held three World Championships.
Roxanne Perez grew up watching Lee as a kid and described facing the star as a ‘dream’ in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
“That could be my retirement match, to be honest,” explained Perez. “I have a feeling that that could happen if she comes back. Please come back.”
The Prodigy often shares moments with Lee’s husband, with Perez attacking CM Punk at a WWE show in Liverpool, England, in August 2025.
