The former WWE World Heavyweight champion spoke with The Undertaker on a recent podcast.

He was dethroned by CM Punk in their SummerSlam match, which ended with a surprise cash-in from Seth Rollins to be crowned the new champion.

Gunther has faced criticisms from legend Bret Hart, who has ‘no respect’ for the wrestler but has found a fan in ‘The Deadman’.

‘The American Badass’ said the Austrian wrestler and Bron Breakker were good examples to the younger generation of the ‘old school’ style of professional wrestling.

Even with his in-ring appearances limited recently, he did make a small comeback with his appearance on NXT, but has stopped short of a full return match.

Gunther’s funny response to how he’d tackle a WWE program with The Undertaker

If many fans were to pick a dream match between a superstar from the past and one from the present, it is likely they’d choose ‘The Phenom’ and ‘The Ring General’ to lock horns.

Asked on a recent episode of Mark Calaway’s podcast, he gave a funny response about one thing he’d ask for when facing the American.

Speaking on Six Feet Under, he said: “I would definitely cut a promo where I demand to walk out second in that match, because if I walk out first, after that entrance, I’m cool down again.

“I think I would have pushed it just for my entertainment. Let’s see how far I can push it with the chops until things fall apart.

“It would have been good. It would have been a really good match.”

A WrestleMania battle between these two goliaths would have been one to watch no matter the era.

He has already faced two legends of the game this year, Punk and Goldberg; he retired the latter on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The Undertaker’s response to Gunther’s VHS of ‘Best matches of’

One of the other anecdotes from the interview was the Austrian’s story about owning a ‘Best matches of Undertaker’ VHS when he was a child.

His tape was bought at a ‘flea market’ by his father, but the video had only included matches of the all-time great from house shows and live events without any of his standout PPV spectacles.

In response to finding out about the video, the four-time world champion: “Oh man… When you go home you need to find them and burn them.”

One of the contests he remembers was a live show bout against Giant Gonzales, who was the third win in his 21-0 streak at the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’.
