John Cena is dubbed WWE’s ‘Greatest of All Time’, but a remarkable stat could prove he’s legitimately a bigger star than the likes of Roman Reigns, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and The Rock.
Cena continues to break WWE records on his retirement tour, which will see him hang up his boots in December 2025.
The star has been top of the company for more than two decades, competing in some of the biggest WWE matches in history.

Cena carried the company after the post-Attitude Era lull and managed to bring the company into a successful era of its own.
The 17-time champion has featured in all five of the most-bought WrestleMania events of all time, in one of the biggest matches on the card.
That includes his WrestleMania 28: main event against The Rock, which drew 1.2M buys, and his WWE Championship match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21, which drew the same number.
The star also proved he could pull in huge numbers against lesser-known opponents, as he brought in 1.08M buys for his WWE Championship match with JBL at WrestleMania 21.
Of course, there were other huge attractions on each of these cards – but Cena either main evented or competed for the company’s top belt on each of these shows.
John Cena’s remaining dates for 2025 WWE retirement tour
Cena has just eight dates left of his WWE retirement tour, including three PLE appearances at Clash in Paris, Crown Jewel, and Survivor Series.
The 17-time champion will face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris, and he’s expected to face Brock Lesnar after The Beast’s shocking SummerSlam return.
Cena’s other appearances include three SmackDown dates in Dublin, Chicago, and Lyon, and his final appearance, which is expected to be at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December.
Cena’s final opponent is suspected to be Gunther, although no confirmation of the date or opponent has been revealed yet.
