John Cena only has one wish for his final WWE match, and it’s not who his last-ever opponent is.

Cena dropped several hints about his final WWE opponent as he prepares to retire from wrestling at the end of the year.

There have been rumours that Cena will face Gunther in his final WWE match, but the star’s only confirmed match at this point is against Logan Paul at Clash in Paris.

The star has consistently said he doesn’t pick his opponents, but Cena did make one wish for his final WWE match.

John Cena wanted final WWE match to be at The O2 in London

Cena’s final match is expected to be in his home town of Boston, Massachusetts, but the star requested another city back in January 2025.

Appearing on UK TV show, The One Show (via DAZN), Cena said his choice of venue and location would be in England.

“Fans in the UK WWE fans are the best, and fans in London specifically, they will let you know how they feel,” said the 17-time champion.

The star added: “I don’t think I’ll be able to choose my opponent, but if I can choose a venue, it would be the O2 in London.”

Cena did appear at The O2 Arena earlier this year on a WWE Raw ahead of WrestleMania 41, where he shared an extraordinarily heated segment with Cody Rhodes.

John Cena doesn’t know who his final WWE opponent is

There’s been much speculation surrounding Cena’s final opponent, but the 17-time champion has confirmed he still doesn’t know who it will be.

Several names have been floated about for Cena, but the star said he has ‘never once chosen my opponent’ at the Boston FanExpo.

“Whoever challenges me for that last match, I’m going to give it my best shot,” said Cena coyly about his final bout.

Cena’s last match is expected to take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, with a date and location yet to be announced.
