The WWE star’s heel turn is widely considered one of the biggest and most shocking moments in professional wrestling, but some fans have questioned Cena’s performance in his villainous run.
However, Cena revealed on WWE: Unreal that he finds it virtually impossible that he could ruin his career with his retirement tour.

Cena featured heavily in WWE’s latest Netflix documentary, Unreal, and he revealed his feelings on his retirement tour ahead of his first appearance on Raw’s Netflix debut.
The 17-time champion could be seen talking to Triple H, who told Cena he hoped to live up to his WWE career with his swansong.
The WWE icon was adamant they couldn’t ruin his career no matter how bad his retirement tour ended up being.
“It’s like the last page in a 500-page book,” explained Cena. “All of us would really have to f— it up for that last page to ruin the 499.”
Cena was confident ahead of his final run with WWE that his retirement tour would be successful. “I’ll play the stats and say it’s not gonna happen.”
Cena announced himself for the Royal Rumble on WWE Raw’s Netflix debut and teased his WrestleMania opponent.
Who will John Cena face on the rest of his WWE retirement tour?
There is only one match confirmed for Cena’s remaining 15 dates of his WWE retirement tour, that being his SummerSlam match with Cody Rhodes.
The star is also confirmed for several dates in 2025, including Clash in Paris in August and Crown Jewel: Australia in November.
Cena is expected to face AJ Styles at Clash in Paris, and other matches against The Miz, Joe Hendry, and Bron Breakker have been touted.
The star is expected to compete in his final match in December 2025, with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther the latest rumour for Cena’s final opponent.
