John Cena and Brock Lesnar look set for a collision course, but there are plenty of other WWE stars who have expressed an interest in facing The Beast.
Lesnar made a shocking WWE return at SummerSlam by attacking John Cena after his extraordinary match with Cody Rhodes.
The Beast has not been seen since, but Cena challenged him to a match with his trademark: “You want some, come get some!” on WWE SmackDown.
Cena and Lesnar look set to face each other in September, but two other highly rated stars have also shared an interest in tackling The Beast.
Bron Breakker said a match with Brock Lesnar would ‘elevate’ him
Bron Breakker has evolved into one of the most exciting WWE stars on the main roster, and he had his aspirations high back in his WWE NXT 2.0 days when he said he wanted to face Lesnar.
“He is an animal,” said Breakker when speaking about Lesnar to El Brunch with Quetzallli Bulnes in 2021.
“I think he would elevate me. You know, force me to elevate and bring my game up as well. I think it would be a war.”
Breakker and Lesnar is arguably one of the biggest WWE dream matches the company could produce at this point, which is testament to Breakker’s rise in the company.
The star looks set to face Roman Reigns in the near future, but there’s every chance a clash with The Beast also happens.
Gunther sees Brock Lesnar as his ‘end boss’ in WWE
Fans have called for Gunther vs Lesnar ever since the Austrian started making a name for himself down in NXT.
The two men crossed paths on one occasion, in the 2023 Royal Rumble match, but a match never materialised.
That didn’t stop the two-time World Heavyweight Champion from revealing his thoughts on a match with The Beast in the same year, however.
“You never really know what you get with Brock,” said The Ring General in an interview with Under the Ring in 2023.
“It’s definitely a match I want to have and I want to do. I feel Brock is somebody, I just make it my thing, I make him my personal End Boss.”
Gunther vs Lesnar is the kind of marquee match that would only take place on one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year.
