The Rock’s wish list for potential WWE opponents in 2017 has still not been touched, despite his 2024 return.

The Great One made a sensational return to wrestling ahead of WrestleMania 40 to feud with Cody Rhodes and team with Roman Reigns.

The Rock was pivotal in John Cena’s WWE heel turn, but he’s not returned to the ring since the WrestleMania 40 main event.

The Hollywood star is yet to lock horns with the three huge WWE stars he listed in a 2017 interview.

Back in 2017, The Rock’s return to the professional wrestling sphere looked like a pipe dream, with the star wrestling just once in five years.

That didn’t stop The Great One from naming the top three stars he wanted to wrestle should he return to WWE.

“If I could wrestle two guys it’d be, well three,” said The Rock at ComicCon in 2017 (via Uproxx). “One would be Triple H. The Game.”

Triple H and The Rock had a storied rivalry during the Attitude Era, but they haven’t faced each other since The Rock named him as a potential opponent.

The two stars did tease friction when The Rock debuted The Final Boss ahead of WrestleMania 40, however.

The Rock also named two other stars on his WWE wish list, one he’s faced just once before and another he’s yet to face.

“The other would be the Beast, Brock Lesnar,” continued The Rock. “The other one would be a guy who actually just needs my foot in his a–, Roman Reigns.”

The Rock and Lesnar’s only singles match in front of the cameras came at SummerSlam in 2002, although they did also meet at a WWE house show in 2003.

What has Roman Reigns said about facing The Rock?

Reigns has always been open about wanting to face his cousin, The Rock, in a high-profile WrestleMania match.

“We have to do it in a regard that is going to attract more eyes and bring more people in,” said Reigns in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

“Dwayne is always going to be in that role,” added Reigns. “He’s always going to be a guy that magnetizes and makes the broadcast even bigger.”

Reigns vs The Rock was reportedly scheduled for WrestleMania 40, before fans voiced their opinions for Rhodes.
