The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak is one of the most legendary runs in WWE history, but it could have surprisingly ended thanks to The Rock.
The Deadman has been retired since 2022, but he closed another chapter in WWE when he lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30.
The Undertaker, who recently teased a WWE match with Gunther, had won at 21 WrestleManias in a row, defeating the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair.
It was shockingly ended by Lesnar in 2014, and it may have been inadvertently down to The Rock.

The Rock was originally planned to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30
The Rock took a huge gap between wrestling for WWE after his back-to-back John Cena matches at WrestleMania 28 and 29.
The star was reportedly set to continue wrestling on an annual basis for WWE, but the injury he suffered against Cena in their second match curtailed those plans.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed who WWE had planned for The Rock’s next opponent at WrestleMania 30.
“The original plan was for him to continue wrestling at WrestleMania with a one-year build for a 2014 match with Brock Lesnar,” said Meltzer.
With The Rock pulling out, Lesnar ended up facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans.
Perhaps the most controversial decision of all time, The Beast ended The Undertaker’s 21-match unbeaten streak at the show.
If The Rock had wrestled Lesnar at ‘Mania 30, there’s every chance The Undertaker would still have his legendary streak.
Who did The Undertaker want to break his WrestleMania streak?
Lesnar breaking The Undertaker’s Streak was incredibly controversial, and a decision not even The Deadman agrees with.
He would have preferred it was broken by a rising star at the same rather than his old rival, The Beast.
“You pay things forward,” said ‘Taker. “And I thought it would have been much better for Roman, and where Roman was at the time, than it would be for Brock.”
Reigns was eventually given the honour of defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania after The Streak was defeated. Reigns beat The Deadman three years later at WrestleMania 33.
