Alcaraz was asked why he continued to play tennis despite coming through a three set match up on August 10.
In his Cincinnati Open press conference, Alcaraz revealed: “I just wanted to hit some balls just to pull out all the negative feelings that I could have had from the match,”
“I just wanted to feel much better and think and feel like my tennis is there, and it’s just about good feelings. I wanted to put a lot of reps on that.”
Alcaraz plays Hamad Medjedovic in the third round of the Cincinnati Open, which will be a debut match for both men.
Medjedovic defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic and Tallon Griekspoor to confirm his place in the Cincinnati Open third round.
