Jake Paul is the one cruiserweight on everybody’s lips, even catching the eye of a past opponent of Canelo Alvarez.

Jake Paul continues to grab headlines even after his dominant win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr last weekend.

He has even found himself ranked at #14 in the WBA cruiserweight rankings, much to the dismay of some boxing fans.

The ranking comes as talk of a world title fight against unified champion Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez looks closer to actuality.

Former Canelo opponent Sergey Kovalev calls out Jake Paul for ‘easy’ fight

One man who believes he can beat the ‘Problem Child’ is Sergey ‘Krusher’ Kovalev, who beat Artur Mann in his retirement fight by TKO in the seventh round last April.

However, Kovalev believes he still has something left to give and turned his attention to the influencer in an interview this week.

He said, “My opinion is that he is fighting nobody. If he wants to be the real champion, let’s have a fight with the Krusher.

“Of course I’m going to kick his a–. It is going to be a very, very interesting strategy fight.

“I’m not going to kick his a– or knock him out, but just make him look like a stupid boxer – easy fight.”

The former light heavyweight champion has laced up against some of the best, including Alvarez and Andre Ward.

When questioned on if he felt the 28-year-old was a good boxer, he gave a fair assessment.

“He is a good boxer with no names, Mike Tyson, he is retired, he is an old man,” Kovalev said.

“Jake, if you are going to be a real fighter in the world, let’s fight with the Krusher, let’s do it.”

Is Sergey Kovalev the perfect Jake Paul opponent?

Now with the Ohio fighter eyeing more established boxing competition, could a fight with the 42-fight veteran be on the cards?

Well, he certainly has all the attributes of an opponent the American would revel in.

In terms of age, at 42 years old, it would put him in the same bracket as former opponents such as Mike Tyson.

The ‘Krusher’ has a resume packed with established fighters, including Paul’s dream fight of the Mexican Saul Alvarez.

His most recent outings have come in the cruiserweight division, which means there are no issues with weight.

If the novice boxer was looking for a matchup not only to test himself but to establish his name, look no further than Kovalev.

It seems like once again, a fight that would have seemed out of the question for this YouTube star a few short years ago may soon turn into a reality.
