Lando Norris has revealed what he would swap every win of his career so far for, ahead of his home race at Silverstone.
The rise of Norris over the last year has been remarkable. Before last season, the story surrounding the Brit was his inability to take the first win of his career. People were beginning to wonder if it would ever happen after a series of near-misses.
But after his first victory in Miami, they came flooding in. He now has seven victories to his name, including the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix this season. He is in the midst of a title battle with teammate Oscar Piastri and has proven himself as one of the best drivers on the F1 grid.

In the build up to the British Grand Prix, however, he revealed that he would swap every Formula One race win for one thing.
Lando Norris says he would trade every win for a Silverstone victory
Silverstone has always been a special place for British drivers. Nigel Mansell famously said that the home crowd is worth a second a lap. The support for home drivers is unrivalled, and Norris said he would give up every win to stand on the top step in front of his fans.
In a pre-weekend press conference, he said. “It’s tough to put anything above Monaco, but I said before Monaco that if I could win anything, if I could swap all race wins for one, it would be for a Silverstone win.”
He continued, “Monaco is special. I think they’ll be very different for different reasons. Monaco is its history, and what it means to the people who have won there. Silverstone because it’s my home race, it’s the British fans and all those things. The Lando fans and all those guys.”
The newly named Landostand at Silverstone, located on the outside of Stowe corner in the final sector, will be packed with Norris fans who hope to be standing in ovation come the final lap, as he navigates the Vale Chicane for a maiden home win.
He would follow in the footsteps of some of F1’s all-time greats, such as Lewis Hamilton, who holds almost every Silverstone record, Mansell, Damon Hill and Jim Clark to name a few.
Norris said it would be a childhood dream come true to do exactly that. “It’ll be the one that puts the biggest smile on my face, bigger than Monaco, and it’s the one that, since I was a kid and I first started watching Formula One, that I’ve wanted to win the most.”
Lando Norris needs a Silverstone win to mount title pressure on Oscar Piastri
Beyond what a Silverstone win would mean to Norris, a victory here would be pivotal in his title race with teammate Piastri. He is breathing down the neck of the Aussie after fending him off in Austria, and can take the championship lead if results go his way.
It’s been an up-and-down start to the season for Norris. He started the season with a bang, a win at Piastri’s home race in Melbourne, and has taken victories at Monaco and Austria. He has missed the podium only twice this year – at Saudi Arabia and Canada, where he took himself out of the race.
That was a big moment in Norris’ season, and one that could have derailed his championship fight if he couldn’t find a response. But he bounced back emphatically in Austria, and the championship is back on.
Piastri has responded to every Norris win this year. Every time Norris has won a race, Piastri has followed with a win of his own to nullify the result.
This time, the Brit will want to mount some momentum as we get closer to the summer break, and a win in front of his home fans as his title rival watches on would be the perfect way to do it.
