Scottie Scheffler had a hilarious response when asked what he was bad at doing.
Scottie Scheffler recently won his 18th PGA Tour event at the BMW Championship, proving again why he’s by far and away the best player in golf. He has two majors to his name after he won the Open Championship and the PGA Championship.
Now Scheffler is a U.S. Open away from the career grand slam. Every event he plays is Scheffler vs the field. He makes golf look effortless. That left a reporter asking the world number one what he’s bad at, and he had a hilarious response.

Scottie Scheffler reveals what he is bad at
World number one Scheffler has drawn Tiger Woods comparisons this season with his out-and-out dominance. That meant golf reporter Dan Rapaport had to get creative with his post-BMW Championship interview.
He asked Scheffler what he had for breakfast along with a host of out-of-the-box questions, but finished by asking him what he is bad at.
His answer? “Cooking safely. Yes. That’s my final answer,” said Scheffler.
Scheffler’s 2025 season was unexpectedly delayed due to a kitchen accident on Christmas Day. He used a wine glass to cut the dough for homemade ravioli. The glass broke and punctured the palm of his right hand, embedding small glass fragments that required surgical removal.
He recovered throughout the season, but his early form in 2025 opened the door for Rory McIlroy to win the Masters during a dominant start to the season for the Northern Irishman.
Scheffler went on to win The Open and PGA Championship, and has reclaimed his title of best golfer alive emphatically. He ran away with the FedEx Cup, leading by nearly 4,000 points over Rory McIlroy in second.
At least he can joke about the incident, and remind himself to stay out of the kitchen!
Americans need Scottie Scheffler in order to avoid a repeat of Ryder Cup embarrassment
The BMW Championship marked the end of automatic American qualification for the 2025 Ryder Cup, meaning we now know the six automatic qualifiers for Team USA.
Scheffler headlines Team USA, but on paper, the team looks top-heavy. Beyond Scheffler and LIV Golf and YouTube star Bryson DeChambeau, the team is full of unproven quantities and inconsistent performers.
JJ Spaun has put himself among golf’s elite this season, winning the U.S. Open and almost beating Justin Rose to the St. Jude title, but this is his first taste of the Ryder Cup, and he has only put in this level of performance this season.
Xander Schauffele didn’t crack the top 30 of the FedEx Cup standings, so he’ll miss the Tour Championship. Meanwhile, Russell Henley will make their Ryder Cup debut.
Captain Keegan Bradley has big decisions yet to make as he has yet to announce his captain’s picks. He weighs whether to pick himself, and he has interesting options out there, including the in-form Cameron Young.
Whoever he chooses, the team is likely to be filled with inexperience, which could be troublesome against Team Europe, who are probably going to bring the same team to New York as they did to Rome in 2023, where they embarrassed the Americans.
McIlroy, who is fully focused on the Ryder Cup, said he wants to beat the Americans on their own soil immediately after winning in Rome. With a host of inexperience around him, Scheffler will need to be at his brilliant best to prevent that from happening.
