The reason that LeBron James worked out at an LA Clippers facility has been revealed.
James was pictured working out in front of an LA Clippers logo, reigniting mass speculation about his LA Lakers future. James has been considering moving from the Lakers all offseason as he grows frustrated with the team’s lack of direction.
The Clippers were one of many teams mentioned as a potential destination for James, who seeks his fifth NBA championship. And the real reason he trained in front of the logo was exposed.

NBA reporter Nick DePaula revealed that Klutch Sports Group, James’ agency, now uses an old Clippers facility for its clients to train at. Klutch represents some of the NBA’s biggest superstars, including Anthony Davis, Draymond Green and James himself.
According to DePaula, Klutch simply haven’t switched out the logos yet. However, James is very self-aware and knows the consequences of whatever he posts online.
This offseason, James wore a hat that said “welcome home” when he was rumoured to be joining his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers, and fuelled speculation by posting a photo of himself and Nikola Jokic’s agent.
While there may be an explanation as to why James was working out around Clippers logos, the post seemed intentional by the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
LeBron James keeps pressure on the LA Lakers
All signs point towards James staying in LA, at least for the start of the season, but he continues to stoke the fire of trade speculation.
James didn’t contact Marcus Smart or DeAndre Ayton when they signed with the Lakers. It seems in every way he can, the 40-year-old wants to keep piling pressure on his team and drawing attention to the potential of his departure.
More than anything, James wants his fifth ring as he continues to battle the ghost of Michael Jordan. Meanwhile, the Lakers are happy to wait until the summer of 2027 to make a big move.
While his team are happy on their timeline, it doesn’t align with James, so anything he can do to pressure his team into making moves, he’ll do.
