Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu are set to team up for the new-look US Open mixed doubles event in August, hoping to secure the huge prize on offer.

The American Grand Slam is set to be a sensational watch for tennis supporters. Fans will see some of the biggest names in the men’s and women’s game team up in a blockbuster tournament with a $1 million grand prize.

For this reason, teams will mean business. There are already some powerful pairings, in particular, Carlos Alcaraz, 22, and Emma Raducanu, 22, are a duo that will be one of the favourites for the tournament.

Despite some recent difficulties, Raducanu is still one of the game’s hottest prospects, and Alcaraz is, well, Alcaraz.

The pair are looking forward to teaming up in a few months and took to social media to exchange messages.

Raducanu posted on her Instagram story to share the ITF’s announcement of the mixed doubles pairing, reposting the image and adding a simple smiley face emoji while tagging Alcaraz.

The Spaniard was quick to respond, reposting the story with a three-word message of his own: “Let’s go partner”.

Raducanu and Alcaraz first look to Wimbledon after Queen’s 2025 concludes, but the US Open will creep up on them, and they’ll be ready to hit the clay together, no doubt.

The event should be a welcome addition to the tennis calendar, and players also feel excited about the prospect of something a little different.

“I’m super excited about it. I think it’s going to be great. It was an amazing idea for the tournament,” Alcaraz said after his opening win at Queen’s.

“We will try to win. But obviously it’s going to be really, really fun.”

Jack Draper also commented, he said: “I’ll definitely play. I think it’s a good format to get prepared for the US Open and having a shot at playing with another top player.”
