AJ Lee’s reported WWE return has put the wrestling world into a stupor, with several stars jockeying to face the icon.

Becky Lynch is first in line for a match with AJ Lee, but she’s not the only WWE star to express an interest in a match with the returning wrestler.

Liv Morgan previously called out AJ Lee for an all-star tag team match, and Naomi said she’d been badgering CM Punk for her return.

Lee’s final WWE opponent from 2015 has also previously shared her wishes for one last match with the icon.

Nikki Bella wants another WWE match with AJ Lee

Nikki Bella teamed with Brie Bella and Natalya to take on Paige, Naomi, and AJ Lee for the latter’s final WWE match, but Bella is desperate for another match with the star.

Speaking to EWrestling ahead of WWE Evolution in 2018, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella said: “I was actually hoping (AJ Lee) was going to be at Evolution.”

“She was a huge part of the Women’s division and if she came back, I would totally love to [wrestle her],” said the star. We had good chemistry.”

Lee and Bella often butted heads during their time in WWE due to their different journeys to the wrestling ring.

Lee came from the independent scene, while The Bella Twins were put onto the main roster without wrestling training.

Bella described their ‘personal’ issues on an episode of The Nikki and Brie Show, where she also said the pair would go ‘off-script’ with their insults.

AJ Lee could stick around in WWE after Wrestlepalooza

Lee is expected to team with her husband, CM Punk, to take on Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, but she might be sticking around after that.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, of Fightful Select, the star’s WWE return ‘could end up being more than a one off’.

That means matches with the likes of Morgan, Bella, and Naomi could happen after years of longing from fans.

Lee was a top-tier talent during her run in WWE between 2012 and 2015, and she held the Divas Championship on three occasions.
