A fired WWE star previously claimed that if AJ Lee ever returned to professional wrestling, it would be down to her.
CM Punk and Becky Lynch teased an AJ Lee return on WWE Raw in Paris, France, following the Irish star’s inducting into Seth Rollins’ Vision.
Many expect a WWE match between Lynch and Lee, alongside their respective husbands Punk and Rollins, which could come as soon as Wrestlepalooza.
As the return speculation grows more and more fervent, a forgotten WWE star could be the reason Lee is returning.
Cora Jade said you had her to thank if AJ Lee returned to WWE
Cora Jade has often spoken about her admiration for Lee, as well as her desire to see her back in a WWE ring.
Speaking to TV Insider about a potential Lee return in October 2024, former WWE star Jade revealed: “I hope so. I’m working on it.
The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion added: “Me and Roxy (WWE star Roxanne Perez) are always badgering Punk about it. I know he is doing it to her as well, so we’ll see.
“If it happens, you’ll have to thank me,” the 24-year-old concluded.
Jade was let go by WWE in May 2025 after four years with the company’s developmental brand, but her legacy just might extend to Lee’s sensational return.
There is ‘traction’ to the AJ Lee WWE return reports
Lee’s potential WWE return is not just the work of imaginative professional wrestling fans, as it’s been reported there have been ‘numerous pitches’ for the star from Triple H and the creative team.
“WWE sources have indicated that AJ Lee’s name has been brought up in numerous pitches internally of late,” said Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select.
“We can’t confirm an AJ Lee return is a go, but sources in WWE said there has been more traction on it of late than in previous years.”
AJ Lee’s last WWE match was a six-women tag match, which saw her team with Paige and Naomi to take on The Bella Twins and Natalya.
