The Rock’s brand-new look has created fear among WWE fans that he might never return to wrestling.
The Rock orchestrated John Cena’s WWE heel turn, but he hasn’t been seen in the company since March 2025.
The star is set to appear in The Smashing Machine, as well as the upcoming Martin Scorsese film, and many fans believe his in-ring career could be done.
The Rock’s brand-new, slimmer look is the final nail in the coffin for fans’ beliefs that he might one day return to WWE.

WWE fans stunned by The Rock’s slimmed-down physique
The Rock is currently on the promo trail for The Smashing Machine and has debuted a slimmer look at the Venice Film Festival.
The Great One looks considerably smaller than his trademark bulky physique and fans think it could mean he doesn’t return to WWE again.
“So it’s all but confirmed,” said one fan on X. “The Final Boss is never coming back.” Another wrote: “No wonder we haven’t seen him in WWE.”
Another said: “Yeah, that guy is not wrestling any time soon,” while one wrote: “The Rock’s got that ‘I’m retired’ body.”
The Rock has made multiple appearances in WWE this year, including on Monday Night Raw’s Netflix debut and NXT’s New Year’s Evil.
The Rock will likely only want one more WWE match
The Rock’s debut at The Final Boss heading into WrestleMania 40 was a revelation, and it’s left fans wanting more from the Hollywood star.
His brief foray into the John Cena heel turn story certainly left fans with a sour taste in their mouth, but they are still champing at the bit for a return from The Great One.
The Rock will likely only return for one opponent in WWE: his cousin and fellow Bloodline member Roman Reigns.
The pair have teased a match over the years, and it’s arguably the biggest WWE dream match available for the company.
