John Cena ‘selling his soul’ to The Rock was one of the biggest moments in WWE history, but one star wishes it was him instead.

John Cena aligned with The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber by attacking Cody Rhodes for his first heel run in over two decades.

WWE fans criticised Cena’s heel run, but the moment is widely considered one of the greatest twists in professional wrestling history.

A top WWE star, who is a former World Champion, has told fans he would have joined The Rock’s side ‘in a heartbeat’.

Kevin Owens says he would have aligned with The Rock at WWE Elimination Chamber

Kevin Owens has been missing from action in WWE since he was forced to withdraw from his WrestleMania 41 match with Randy Orton.

The Prize Fighter was on an incredible heel run before that, having matches with Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn, and he’s revealed he would have jumped at the chance to work with The Rock.

A fan reached out to Owens on X and told him to join forces with The Rock and become WWE Champion and the Canadian replied: “I would have done it in a heartbeat.”

There were reports on WWE: Unreal that one of the pitched plans for The Rock’s offer at Elimination Chamber was for Rhodes to reject the request and for Owens to come out and take the title from him.

That didn’t happen, fortunately as Owens was forced out with injury shortly after Elimination Chamber. Owens faced Zayn in a brutal Unsanctioned Match on the show.

Kevin Owens provides positive update on neck injury

Owens appeared at a Nascar event on August 23 and spoke to Scottie Sprinkle about his recovery from injury.

The WWE star revealed he has had neck fusion surgery and discloses exactly how the ‘stressful’ procedure went.

“We weren’t really sure how severe the fusion was going to be,” said Owens. “How many levels, all this stuff. Thankfully, it ended up only being one level, which is the best-case scenario for something like this.”

“The surgery was successful,” continued The Prize Fighter. “I had a great doctor.”

There was doubt about whether Owens would ever return to the ring, and the Canadian is expected to be out for a very long time.
