Cody Rhodes will not be performing at Clash in Paris, marking the first WWE PLE since Backlash that the American Nightmare will not appear.
Rhodes became WWE Champion at SummerSlam, but he was written off TV on SmackDown after an attack from Drew McIntyre.
The American Nightmare is not expected back for weeks, but his timeline for a WWE return has already reportedly been revealed.

Rhodes will miss Clash in Paris due to his filming commitments on the video game adaptation, Street Fighter.
The WWE Champion’s hiatus from the company won’t last long though and he’s currently scheduled to return in September.
According to PWInsider, Rhodes is set to face Drew McIntyre in September, at WWE’s PLE, Wrestlepalooza.
Brock Lesnar vs John Cena is also set for that card as WWE counter-programs AEW’s All Out on September 20.
Clash in Paris will mark the first time the WWE Championship has not been defended on a PLE since Money in the Bank in June.

The American Nightmare has been ever-present for WWE since returning to the company in 2022, but his second run as champion will begin by breaking a strange nine-month streak.
Rhodes’ non-appearance at Clash in Paris will mark the first time the WWE Champion has not appeared on a PLE since Survivor Series: WarGames in November.
Rhodes was WWE Champion then, but was not picked for the show in favour of the star taking on Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event two weeks after.
Rhodes defeated Owens in the main event of the match, and their feud continued into 2025’s Royal Rumble.
