WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event saw jubilation and sadness as multiple stars returned, and a major injury could scupper the company’s summer plans.
The entire show was built around Goldberg’s final WWE match in his adopted home of Atlanta, Georgia, but the company also offered up some excellent surprises.
Two major WWE stars returned after extended absences, and the likes of Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Gunther were in action.
Here are five things we learned from WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Randy Orton and Jelly Roll call out Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul
Orton’s clash with Drew McIntyre opened the show, but the match was really a vehicle to set up a celebrity SummerSlam clash.
The Viper was flanked by Jelly Roll, while the Scottish Warrior was joined by Logan Paul at ringside for the bout.
Jelly Roll and The Maverick had a heated shoving match before Orton picked up the win and then tensions truly spilled over.
McIntyre hit Jelly Roll with a Claymore, which led The Viper to call out McIntyre and Paul for a tag team match at SummerSlam.
This certainly feels rushed and it’s no wonder internet fans don’t seem to be into this latest burst of celebrity involvement.
Nevertheless, Jelly Roll proved to be pretty popular at the State Farm Arena in Georgia, so maybe there is demand for the GRAMMY-winner to make his wrestling debut.
Seth Rollins suffers injury against LA Knight
WWE were dealt a huge blow during Rollins and LA Knight’s clash as The Architect looked to suffer a genuine injury.
Rollins looked to tweak his knee after a jump from the top rope and the match was quickly ended shortly after with a Knight win.
A long-term injury to Rollins at this stage would be a disaster for WWE heading into SummerSlam as he looked to be factored into several high-profile matches.
It will put CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ plans into a tailspin, and that’s without mentioning the Money in the Bank briefcase, too.
Bianca Belair returns to confront Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair
Jade Cargill was shown in the crowd to hype up her No Holds Barred match with Naomi at WWE Evolution II on July 13.
Her Evolution opponent attacked Cargill and a brawl ensued throughout the State Farm Arena, before being broken up by officials.
Nick Aldis confirmed there would be a Special Guest Referee for the bout at the women’s only PLE – and it would be a returning Bianca Belair!
Belair, of course, has history with both women, and it will no doubt provide an intriguing wrinkle heading into Evolution.
Jacob Fatu returns after Solo Sikoa beats Jimmy Uso
Jimmy Uso fell short in his first-ever singles match for championship gold against his brother Solo Sikoa for the United States Championship.
Uso was rolled up by Sikoa, who was aided by Tala Tonga, but the violence didn’t stop there as the new Bloodline group continued the attack.
This brought out a returning Jacob Fatu, who cleared house and took out the faction he used to be involved with.
It looks like a re-match between Fatu and Sikoa is on the cards for SummerSlam in New Jersey.
Gunther puts Goldberg to sleep in his final WWE match
Goldberg’s final match against Gunther went about as good as the 58-year-old could hope in the main event.
The pair produced a solid 14-minute bout, which did a good job of accentuating the positives for the WCW legend.
The star hit a Spear and a Jackhammer for a close two-count, before the World Heavyweight Champion put Goldberg to sleep for the win.
Goldberg soaked in the adulation after the bell and cut a promo to bid farewell to professional wrestling for good.
