John Cena’s rumoured match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza could see the 17-time champion join an exclusive WWE club.

Lesnar attacked Cena at SummerSlam back in August, marking his first WWE appearance in two years and their match is expected to take place at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

Lesnar is scheduled for SmackDown on the two shows prior to Wrestlepalooza, and the high-profile match is designed to counter-programme AEW’s All Out.

Cena could add a little more history to his groundbreaking WWE retirement tour if he picks up a win over The Beast.

John Cena is one away from 100 WWE PLE wins in his career

Cena defeated Logan Paul at Clash in Paris to mark his 99th career win at WWE PLEs in his glittering in-ring career.

With his next WWE PLE appearance set to be against Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, the 17-time champion could make it a century of wins.

Only one WWE star has managed the feat before, with The Undertaker notching 107 wins on PPV across his career.

Most Wins in WWE PLE history
The Undertaker (107)
John Cena (99)
Triple H (92)
Randy Orton (81)
Roman Reigns (77)

Cena can’t reach The Deadman’s record, with just three WWE PLEs left before he retires, but he can make it to three figures.

The 17-time champion is likely to face Gunther in his retirement match, with bouts against Dominik Mysterio and Drew McIntyre also touted.

Why John Cena hit AJ Styles’ ‘Styles Clash’ against Logan Paul

Fans were unhappy when Paul was announced to face Cena at Clash in Paris, due to the 17-time champion’s diminishing dates on his retirement tour.

They believed there were far more suitable stars for Cena to face, with the star expected to compete in just three more matches.

Cena hit AJ Styles’ Styles Clash in his match with Paul, and then hinted that he would not face The Phenomenal One before he retires.

“The best way I can say thank you to some of those people who affected my career is to kind of pay homage… doing some stuff that I don’t normally do out there,” said Cena.
